Library Membership & Usage
📝Membership Instructions
- 📸 One passport-size photograph and one copy of your ID card are required.
- 🖥️ Apply for library membership at the Library Circulation Desk or online.
- 🔐 Students will receive their ID & password within 48 hours.

Library facilities include:
- 📚 Reference Material
- 📘 Textbooks
- 📖 Reference Books
- 📰 Journals
- 🗞️ Magazines
👉 Students with a valid SHU ID can access all library facilities.
📍Reference Library
- 📌 Materials are for in-library use only.
- ❌ Reference materials cannot be issued or taken outside.
📗 Lending Books
- ✔ Available only for registered library members.
- 🔎 Check book condition before borrowing.
- ✏️ Marking/highlighting is prohibited.
- 💰 Damaged or marked books may result in a fine from Rs. 100 up to the full book cost.
Borrowing Limits:
- 📚 Maximum 2 books for 7 days.
- 🔄 Reissue may be allowed.
- ⏰ Late return fine: Rs. 20 per book per day.
🏛️ General Rules & Regulations
✅ Library Discipline
- 🪪 Valid ID card required (cards are non-transferable).
- 🤫 Maintain silence and discipline.
- 🚫 Group discussions not allowed on 1st & 2nd floors.
- 👥 Group study permitted on 3rd & 4th floors.
🔇 Conduct Guidelines
- 🚫 No loud music, clapping, or shouting.
- 🎒 Do not leave belongings unattended.
- 🍽️ Eating prohibited (water allowed only).
- ⚠️ Disturbances may lead to removal from library.

- 💡 Suggestions for improved services are welcome.
⚖️ Membership Suspension / Cancellation
Membership may be suspended or canceled (with penalties) for:
- ❗ Harassment or threatening behavior
- 🗣️ Abusive language
- 😴 Loitering or sleeping
- 🚫 Misconduct with staff
- 📜 Violation of library rules
Note: Any rule violation may lead to suspension or cancellation of membership.
