Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Shamim, Associate Dean, Social Sciences & Humanities, Head of the Office of Graduate Studies, and Director of the Center for Policy Research & Sustainability (CPRS), Salim Habib University, recently met with Mr. Rashid Siddiqui, Chairman Afeef Group, a prominent Pakistani industrialist, exporter, and business leader, who’s currently serving as President of the Karachi Business Forum and President of the Pakistan Food Association, and has previously held the position of President at the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI).
The meeting focused on strengthening academia–industry linkages, with key discussions around a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Salim Habib University and Afeef Group, along with joint policy initiatives, applied research, internships, and career opportunities for SHU graduates under the CPRS framework. Both sides also shared a common vision for innovation, sustainability, and evidence-based policymaking, reaffirming their commitment to a meaningful and long-term partnership that contributes to national economic development.
