Building Resilient Minds: Mental Wellbeing & Advocacy, a hands-on Training Workshop organized by the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with the Department of Psychology at Salim Habib University under its BIOMED 5.0 Project and co-funded by the European Union, was held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.
The workshop, conducted by Dr. Aatir Rajput, ‎Consultant Psychiatrist & Psychotherapist, and Dr. Sumbul Mujeeb, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET), raised awareness about mental health issues and emphasized collective actions to promote mental well-being and advocate for better mental health practices.
The event featured a variety of interactive mental health awareness activities, including art therapy, stress management, anger management, and mindfulness & relaxation exercises, which provided students and university personnel with practical techniques to manage stress, enhance emotional resilience, and improve overall mental well-being.
Besides this, one-on-one counselling sessions were conducted by experienced mental health professionals, including Dr. Aatir Rajput, Dr. Sumbul Mujeeb, Ms. Ambreen Siddiqui, and Ms. Nighat Altaf, who offered personalized sessions and helped participants address individual mental health concerns and manage their emotional and psychological challenges.
